The study observed a wide fluctuation in the selling price of the produce and it is seen that generally when the harvest is good the price moves downward due to the market glut. Absence of proper transportation linkage to major markets of Guwahati, lack of value addition facilities, damage during transportation, absence of product sorting and unorganised cultivation are the factors responsible for the less than optimum utilisation of the resources. In the entire exercise, the study felt that there would be need of a support agency as the awareness level of the villagers is poor. One such organization working for the development of the concerned villages is Mitali Nari Adhikar Suraksha Samiti, a Guwahati based NGO. Therefore, the study has been for handholding support to the villages in the initial stages through the Samiti. The study therefore, has suggested measures to ensure better utilization of the fruits produce in the villages in addition to contributing to their economic upliftment .for this providing facililier for storage and marketing in addition to value addition has been suggested.
