As seen during the study resources utilization is very limited and is such a mapping of the resources of the state and their economic utilization has to be worked out. It is seen that the state offers tremendous scope for resource based units and in this direction development of clusters in particular areas could be thought of. The most important thing however is to equip the youths with the skills to harness these resources.
Training is another very important component of the scheme. The beneficiaries have to undergo a six days training programme on entrepreneurship. From the interaction with the trainings during the study it was found that because of the educational qualification of the trainees, the grasping power of the trainees was often found to be very poor. Besides due to the heterogeneity of the groups and the projects selected by them often it becomes difficult for the trainers to address them and these therefore need to be looked into.
Based on the above findings some recommendations are made which are expected to address the problems noticed and make the benefits from the scheme more widespread. It is suggested that the publicity of the scheme is done in a wider scale and specific yardsticks are devised to select the beneficiaries. The training and micro monitoring process have to be invigorated and SIDICO too needs to give a new direction to its functioning for which a series of measures have been suggested.
